Liverpool Arab Arts festival, the UK’s longest running festival of Arab arts and culture, returns 12–21 July with music, theatre, performance, workshops, film and more at venues across Liverpool.

Written by award winning playwright and screenwriter, Hassan Abdulrazzak, Chambers of the Heart gets a staged debut performance at this year’s festival over two nights at Unity Theatre. Oranges and Stones, conceived and directed by Mojisola Adebayo and co-created with Palestine based ASHTAR Theatre, is a play without words told solely though physical action and original music that conveys a moving image of occupation and settlement in Palestine spanning 75 years.

Marina Barham, General Director of Al-Harah Theatre in Bethlehem Palestine, will bring a voice from the theatre and performing arts sector in Palestine through the story of Al Harah Theatre and its work in the West Bank. A special screening of the theatre performance At Home in Gaza and London, which premièred at LAAF 2018 and connected Liverpool, London and Gaza, will include messages from Gazan collaborators.

The full list of events is available on the festival's web site.
