The new season will feature revivals of Britten, Mozart and Mascagni and a new production of Rachmaninov.

At Howard Assembly Room from January, Dafydd Jones takes on the title role of Britten's Albert Herring, while Judith Howarth sings Lady Billows; Garry Walker conducts.

Mozart's "mischievous look at fidelity and romance", Cosi fan tutte, will open at Leeds Grand Theatre in February. Clemens Schuldt and Chloe Rooke conduct a cast including Alexandra Lowe and Heather Lowe as the two sisters and Anthony Gregory and Henry Neill as their duplicitous lovers.

Also at the Grand, a double bill of Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana and Rachmaninov's Aleko will be directed by Karolina Sofulak and conducted by Opera North Principal Guest Conductor Antony Hermus. Robert Hayward returns to Opera North to take on roles in both pieces.
