Alan Booty and Jonathan Houlston will be the cast of Lichfield Garrick’s production of Farm Boy, an adaptation of the sequel to Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse.
Booty will play Grandpa. His career includes productions at the National Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre. He has also worked with several regional and touring theatre companies.
Houlston, who will play Grandson, is a recent Royal Birmingham Conservatoire graduate and has already built up a wealth of stage experience.
Adapted and directed by the venue’s artistic director Daniel Buckroyd, Farm Boy, which previously toured the UK and transferred to New York, picks up the story of Albert and Joey where War Horse ends and “paints a forgotten history of the changing face of life in rural England".
Farm Boy will be performed at Lichfield Garrick from Thursday 29 February until Sunday 10 March before going on a two-week tour to villages across the West Midlands.
