Audiences who watched Lichfield Garrick's 2023 panto Beauty and the Beast donated £7,473 which will be used to further the arts and support voluntary groups across Lichfield.

Daniel Buckroyd, the theatre’s artistic director and chief executive, said, “the Garrick is overwhelmed with the generosity of our patrons. The team at the Garrick is passionate about improving the lives of those within our community through the arts and with these donations we can continue to enhance the district and area.”

The Lichfield Garrick Theatre charitable trust will use the funds towards “providing cultural experiences for young people and community groups, addressing inequalities and combating feelings of isolation within the district.” The money will also help to develop the next generation of creative talent in the region.

The money will be shared with We Love Lichfield which provides grants to voluntary groups.
