Liverpool Empire Theatre has unveiled a sculpture of theatre impresario and ex-Everton FC Chairman Bill Kenwright created by acclaimed Liverpool sculptor Tom Murphy.

Liverpool Empire, currently celebrating its centenary, unveiled the sculpture during a run of Blood Brothers, which Kenwright originally directed and produced in the West End and on tour from 1983 until his death in October 2023 at the age of 78.

Jenny Seagrove, Bill's Partner, said, "Tom has captured Bill and I'm thrilled. Bill felt that this was his theatre and it was his favourite theatre in the world. He loved this city and he's never lost his roots. My family and I are so happy that the bust is here. Tom has given my beloved back his cheekbones!"
