David Seadon-Young will play Professor Higgins in Leicester Curve’s Christmas 2024 production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s musical My Fair Lady.
Seadon-Young played Antoine in Stephen Schwartz and Joseph Stein’s The Baker’s Wife at the Menier Chocolate Factory earlier in 2024 and Adam in An American in Paris at the Dominion Theatre in 2018.
Cathy Tyson, who was Rachel in Hanif Kureishi’s My Beautiful Laundrette at Curve in 2019 and Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest at Curve in 2016, will take the role of Mrs Higgins.
Joining the previously announced Molly Lynch as Eliza Doolittle will be Minal Patel as Colonel Pickering, Steve Furst as Alfred P Doolittle, Sarah Moyle as Mrs Eynsford-Hill and Mrs Pearce and Djavan Van de Fliert as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.
Damian Buhagiar will play Zoltan Karpathy, Jonathan Dryden Taylor will be Harry, Ying Ue Li will take the role of Jamie and Joanna O’Hare will play George.
The cast will be completed by Andy Barke, Keanna Bloomfield, Ashley Gilmour, Lucas Koch, Ritesh Manugula, Nell Martin, Abigail Matthews, Jack Skelton and Kenedy Small.
My Fair Lady will be directed by Curve’s artistic director Nikolai Foster with choreography by Joanna Goodwin. George Dyer will be musical supervisor, Michael Taylor will be set and costume designer, lighting designer is Mark Henderson, Adam Fisher is sound designer and casting direction is by Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.
My Fair Lady will run at Curve from Saturday 23 November until Saturday 4 January 2025.
