Courtney Bowman will play Lauren in Curve’s production of Kinky Boots the Musical, which will tour the UK and Ireland after opening at the Leicester theatre.

Bowman won the WhatsOnStage award for best performer in a musical in 2023 for her portrayal of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. She was also part of the original cast of Dan Gillepsie Sells and Tom MacRea’s Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at Sheffield Theatres in 2017.

Bowman joins Johannes Radebe as Lola and Dan Partridge as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots the Musical, which features a score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. It will be directed by Curve’s artistic director Nikolai Foster.

Choreography will be by Leah Hill, set and costume design by Robert Jones, musical supervision by George Dyer, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Adam Fisher, casting by Harry Blumenau CDG CDA, and wigs, hair and make-up design by Campbell Young Associates. Associate direction will be by Michaela Powell, associate choreography by Johnny Bishop, associate sound design by Harry Barker and production management by Setting Line.

Kinky Boots the Musical will open at Curve from Friday 17 until Saturday 25 January 2025. It will then tour to Woking, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Truro, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Brighton, Birmingham, Plymouth, Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, Leeds, Southampton, Southend, Canterbury, Belfast, Sheffield, Nottingham, Liverpool and Oxford until Saturday 26 July.
