Alan Carr who will play the Magic Mirror

Comedian Alan Carr is to appear as the Magic Mirror in Northampton Royal and Derngate’s 2023 panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs—but only in a pre-recorded video.

Carr grew up in Northampton where his father Graham was manager of Northampton Town Football Club. Alan Carr’s video appearance is in aid of Neuroblastoma UK, a charity of which he is a patron.

As previously announced, actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba will play Price Charming, Wendi Peters will be the Wicked Queen, Bob Golding returns as Nurse Nellie and Marc Pickering will take the role of Herman the Henchman.

The cast also includes Lauren Lane as Snow White, Joey Wilby as Muddles and Dean Whatton, George Coppen, Liam Roche, Jack Hilton, Kain Francis, Ali Sarebani and Paddy Holden as the seven dwarfs. The show will also feature a community ensemble drawn from Royal and Derngate’s youth theatre and young company.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is produced by Evolution Productions. Written by Paul Hendy and directed by Emily Wood, the panto will run at Royal and Derngate from Friday 8 until Sunday 31 December.
