Dance all day in Strictly Wandsworth

Wandsworth London Borough of Culture will kick off on 26 April in Battersea Park with Strictly Wandsworth, featuring groups including Tavaziva Dance, London Children’s Ballet and Royal Academy of Dance, hosted by Strictly professional dancer Oti Mabuse.

The event will bring together 200 dancers from local organisations and end in a mass dance finale created by Patience J, known for her work on Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor, with Jeanefer Jean-Charles (London 2012 Olympics, Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant and Manchester International Festival) and Jenna Lee, powered by the rhythms of Afrobeats from composer DJ Walde. Starting the day, the Let’s All Dance Ballet Company will present a ballet showcase featuring excerpts from Cinderella, The Princess and the Frog and Alice in Wonderland. There will be a showcase of Bollywood dance presented by Naz Choudhury and Boly Flex, 1920s Harlem with a jazz, tap and swing performance from the Lindy Hop Dance Co, line dance with The Country Roses, break-dance battles with Breakforce and a DJ set from Gok Wan.
