Where the World is Going, That's Where We are Going

Sometimes in Edinburgh, the intention behind performances can completely pass one by.

There is a distinct possibility, and a Belgian reviewer used the word "hilarious", that this show was intended to be a laugh out loud comedy but, if so, the small audience at the occasion reviewed missed the point.

Failing that, it really was an elongated conversation in English between two Belgians taking as their text Denis Diderot's Enlightenment classic Jacques the Fatalist and His Master.

Covering issues such as love, freedom and most of all fatalism, Ans van den Eede and Greg Timmermans act exquisitely while saying absolutely nothing of any interest to the eavesdroppers in the cheap seats.
