The Importance of Being Earnest as Performed by Three F*cking Queens and a Duck

Full of biting one-liners, camp behaviour and much pouting, the show is just as outrageous as the title suggests. Three actors rehearse, fight, rehearse and fall in and out of lust whilst preparing for their pared-down version of The Importance of Being Earnest.

In considering different versions of staging, the attempts to perform in the styles of Berkoff, Chekhov and Kabuki are particularly memorable and the energy of the performers is infectious.

The production however rushes to it’s conclusion which, whilst farcical, could have had even more comedy wrung out of it. An enjoyable hour nonetheless, and the duck does a fantastic job being strong and silent.
