New and established writers as well as emerging artists are being invited to submit work on the subject of time and memory to Nottingham Playhouse.
The theatre will be marking the centenary of the start of World War I with a season of three plays exploring the extent to which we control the future and how much the future is already determined by the past.
The plays are J B Priestley’s Time and the Conways, Peter Arnott’s new play Propaganda Swing and Arcadia by Tom Stoppard.
The Playhouse will complement those plays with a programme of work by emerging artists.
Associate director Fiona Buffini says, “'Time and memory' is an interesting and broad theme, with so many possibilities.
“We’re delighted to offer this opportunity to artists across the country and will be excited to see how people respond.
“There are no word limits on submissions. We would rather you didn't send outlines of ideas; we would like to see finished / almost finished work so that we get a real flavour of the piece.”
Submissions and enquiries should be e-mailed to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is Sunday 27 June. The season of work will be decided by 26 August.
The programme of work by emerging artists will take place in and around the Neville Studio at Nottingham Playhouse in October.
