Shipwrecked! An Entertainment - the Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as told by himself) is to receive its UK première this Christmas at south London's Jack Studio Theatre.

Telling the story of one of Victorian England's most notorious celebrities, the show will be directed by the Jack's Artistic Director, Kate Bannister.

Bannister's production last Christmas, The Mystery of Irma Vep, was nominated for five Off West End Awards, including best director and best production.

Shipwrecked! An Entertainment... is written by Pulitzer Prize winning dramatist Donald Margulies and is based on a true story.

Louis de Rougemont, an adventurer capable of amazing deeds, took Victorian England by storm with tales of his exploits on the high seas. Shipwrecked! is the story of an epic journey, on which he encounters extraordinary creatures and overcomes storms, shipwreck and attack.

Shipwrecked! An Entertainment opens at the Jack Studio Theatre on 9 December.
