21,000 Miles of Rail

Swansea City Opera is at Keswick’s Theatre By The Lake on March 1, with a performance of La Bohème by Puccini.

Set in Paris, an impoverished poet, an artist and a philosopher are welcoming Christmas in their attic apartment. Little do they realise that a knock at the door and an accidental touch of hands are about to spark one of opera’s greatest romances.

Meanwhile, the following night, 21,000 Miles of Rail by Hannah Butterfield combines moments of warm humour with elements of the musical and was devised from what Butterfield observed whilst seated for long periods of time in train stations.
