Due Course, a New Perspectives’ show which toured in 2013

Touring theatre producer New Perspectives has announced this year’s Emerging Perspectives programme which is open to a new generation of theatre-makers living and working in the East Midlands.

New Perspectives champions new writing, nurtures emerging talent and supports artists at different stages of their career. For 2014-15, it is offering a range of opportunities.

The company is looking for four emerging writers to write a piece for its EP Company during an attachment from November 2014. The deadline is 16 October.

Actors, directors, designers (set, costume, lighting or sound), composers, stage managers or writers aged 18 and over can take part in a production which will undertake a short tour of East Midlands venues from 6 July 2015. The deadline is 20 February.

A writing competition for full-length plays is open to writers from or based in the East Midlands. New Perspectives is looking for writers with a distinctive voice, an unexpected story and/or an adaptation which looks at theatre afresh. The deadline is 9 January.

The company is also offering two masterclasses: Writing For and About Place with David Rudkin on Sunday 2 November and Coney’s Tasso Stevens hosts Making Interactive Theatre on Saturday 6 December.

Further information and application forms are available at the New Perspectives web site.
