The Octagon was one of 238 arts charities across the country who took part in The Big Give, Arts for Impact campaign in partnership with New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture last month, raising £6,874 in seven days.

Arts for Impact is a new campaign which supports arts charities to fundraise for projects that work with communities to help with mental health and improve social skills through arts and culture. In its inaugural year, it raised £2.8 million from more than 12,000 donations.

The money raised for the Octagon will go towards sustaining its Bridges Company, which provides a safe, inclusive space for people with additional needs to use creativity and theatre to build confidence and social skills.

Founded in 2007, The Big Give brings together large donors with public donors and charities who need them and matches public funding, meaning every donation gets doubled.
