A highly-inventive theatre company brings its latest production Light to the Arts Centre at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk next Tuesday. Theatre Ad Infinitum conjures an Orwellian future where a totalitarian regime monitors the thoughts of its citizens through implants.

The Grand in Blackpool welcomes a new production of two spine-tingling masterpieces when Classic Ghosts comes to the resort from Tuesday to Saturday. It features a double-bill of chilling short stories, The Signalman by Charles Dickens and Oh, Whistle, and I’ll Come To You, My Lad by M R James.

Ayub Khan Din’s critically-acclaimed play East is East comes to Manchester Opera House this week following its run in the West End. It stars stage and screen star Jane Horrocks as Ella and the award-winning playwright himself as her husband George.
