Those who can't wait for an infusion of pop superstardom, need only be patient until January when pop royalty Jessie J warms up her tour in Rhyl.

There's good news for would–be drama students in Wales.

Last month saw the first of a brand new performance training course in North Wales for actors with learning disabilities.

Thirteen students enrolled at the Hijinx Academy in Prestatyn on a pioneering performance skills course which runs two days a week, 50 weeks per year.

Running one day a week is a second course in life skills through drama for adults with more complex learning disabilities.

Hijinx plan Academies across Wales; Prestatyn is the second after Cardiff.

November also saw the results of research commissioned by Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru, which shows that their audiences value performances from its emerging talent as much as from seasoned professionals.

The Review Of The Creative Programme, Audiences And Associated Income And Expenditure 2013/14 revealed that audiences appreciate the opportunity to see future leading performers at reasonable prices and lower tickets prices encourage audiences to be braver in their choices.

The College’s Spring programme includes The Richard Burton Company’s weeklong celebration of new writing, NEW, which will transfer to London's fringe, a new version of La Ronde and three world premières each developed in collaboration with The Royal Court Theatre, National Theatre of Wales and Paines Plough.

As well as visiting theatre productions, there are concerts and cabaret.
