Lost In The Neuron Forest

Theatre company Bread & Goose is touring its promenade theatre performance Lost In The Neuron Forest.

The play asks how our memories define us, and how there can still be hope when it seems that all is lost after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

The work was researched in collaboration with specialists in the field and was developed as part of the Wales Millennium Centre Incubator scheme for emerging artists, under the title The Incurable Imagination of Anthony Jones. It has since been performed at the World Stage Design Festival, Green Man Festival and Camden People’s Theatre.

A mobile library of memories, The Memory Store, will accompany the show at each venue; the public will be encouraged to interact with the items in the library before leaving their own memories in return.

Lost In The Neuron Forest is written and directed by Kate Lovell; in the cast are Nicky Goldie and Hywel Simons.

Lost In The Neuron Forest tours to:

  • Southwark Playhouse
  • Canterbury Christchurch
  • Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
  • Memo Arts Centre, Barry
  • Newport Riverfront
  • Aberystwyth Arts Centre
  • Slung Low’s HUB, Leeds
  • Camden People’s Theatre
