The Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins in partnership with Guardian Masterclasses presents a season of new writing.
To be known as London Writers Week, the season will take place annually, this year from 8 to 11 July, with a theme of New Ideas. Participants include Tamasha Theatre Company with Taxi Tales, Ola Animashawun, creative director of Euphoric Ink and graduating MA Dramatic Writing students.
As well as performances of new work emerging from the UK there is a programme of workshops, masterclasses and courses led by, amongst others, John Yorke, creator of the BBC Writers Academy, and Philip Shelley, who initiated and runs Channel Four’s screenwriting course.
London Writers Week is overseen by the British Writers Council, an advisory group made up of John Yorke, Philip Shelley, Kate Rowland, Steve Winter, Ola Animashawun, Fin Kennedy, Jennifer Tuckett, Caroline Jester and Lucy Kerbel.
