Rock musical Lizzie will return to Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester for just three weeks in autumn, after a successful run last year and subsequent UK tour, including a Halloween Gala Night.
Lizzie explores the life of Lizzie Borden, who was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in the late summer of 1892. The musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2009, delves into Lizzie’s complex psyche and speculates on her motivation.
Music is by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer and Alan Stevens Hewitt, lyrics are by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer and Tim Maner and the book is by Tim Maner. The Hope Mill production is directed and choreographed by William Whelton.
Set and lighting design is by Andrew Exeter, sound designer is Adam Fisher, musical supervision is by Katy Richardson, video designer is Dan Light, dialect coach is Manny Crooks, costume designer is Rachel Tansey, associate choreographer is Yandass Ndlovu and casting is by Pearson Casting CDG CDA CSA.
