New Superstar tour
A new tour of Jesus Christ Superstar begins next month in Edinburgh (Playhouse, opening 13th, previews from 10th) and will then tour for 39 weeks. It is directed by Gale Edwards with choreography by Anthony van Laast and design by Peter J Davison.
After Edinburgh, the show goes on to Llandudno, Southampton, Plymouth, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Bristol, Belfast, Stoke on Trent, Birmingham and Manchester.
Boston Marriage lead announced
Zoe Wanamaker is to star in the Donmar production of Mamet's Boston Marriage (16th March to 14th April, previews from 8th March). Also in the cast are Anna Chancellor and Lyndsey Marshal.
Robbie Williams - actor?
Pop singer Robbie Williams - who, is it rumoured, is being considered as the next James Bond - has enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. He is currently in the US promoting his new album.
Charlotte Church - actress?
14 year old classical singer Charlotte Church also has a yen to be an actress. She revealed last week that she has been in talks with film producers in Los Angeles. She made her acting debut in a episode of the popular series Heartbeat.
A Tribute to Fred Astaire
A "multimedia" tribute to Fred Astaire will be held at the London Palladium on 18th February. Organised by his daughter Ava Astaire McKenzie, it will feature Gregory Peck, Cyd Charisse, John Mills, Stephanie Powers, and there are rumours that Kirk Douglas is also interested in appearing.

Horla to premiere "bawdy medieval romp"
Thetare company Horla are to premiere The Jests Of Skoggan, a comedy about John Skoggan, jester to King Edward IV, set against the background of the Wars Of The Roses. Written by Steve Morley and Directed by Alistair Green, it will be at the Rose and Crown Theatre, Hampton Wick, from 27th February to 17th March.
King and I extends
The King and I (London Palladium) is now booking until 5th January, 2002.
Jerry Hall in controversial play
Rumour has it that Jerry Hall is expected to appear in Eve Ensler's controversial The Vagina Monologues at the New Ambassadors in May.
