Happily Ever After

Action Transport Theatre has received funding to make an LGBT play, based on the controversial children’s book King & King, which will tour to primary schools across the north west.

Banned and challenged in some countries, it tells the story of two princes who fall in love and live happily ever after. The show, called Happily Ever After, will tour to eight primary schools across the north west in autumn 2015.

Both teachers and families will be given an information pack about dealing with the subject of homophobia and homophobic bullying.

Nina Hajiyianni, artistic director of Action Transport and Theatre for Young Audiences UK Chair says: “This a brilliant opportunity to develop a revolutionary primary schools project which looks at same sex relationships.

"It is great that we have been able to secure this non-arts funding to create an innovative performance project which will genuinely be pioneering.

"This project will help raise awareness around difference, respect and relationships to primary school children that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
