Legend Lauchlan crumbles in Coventry panto role

Iain Lauchlan as Dame Clarabelle Crumble

Coventry panto legend Iain Lauchlan will be donning his frocks again as Dame Clarabelle Crumble in the Belgrade’s 2015 panto Beauty and the Beast.

Lauchlan was series producer and script editor of the BAFTA-winning children’s series Tweenies. He is creative director of Imagine Theatre and has helped to set up ten pantos this year around the country.

Craig Hollingsworth who played Wishee Washee in the Belgrade’s 2014 panto Aladdin returns in the role of Willy Crumble. He will be joined on stage by Jessica Niles as Beauty and Charlie Bowyer as the Beast/Prince. The supporting cast includes Andrew Gordon Watkins in the role of Maurice, Jenny Phillips as The Enchantress and Scott Blake as Dork.

Completing the line-up are 24 performers aged from 9 to 16 who make up the production’s three chorus teams.

Beauty and the Beast is written and directed by Iain Lauchlan. Assistant director is Paul Gibson, costume and set design are by Mark Walters, choreography is by Jenny Phillips, the fight director is Lisa Connell, lighting design is by Pete Kramer, musical director is Glenn Hogue and sound design is by Martyn Davies.

Beauty and the Beast runs at the Belgrade from Wednesday 25 November until Saturday 9 January 2016. Press night will be on Friday 27 November.
