A major visual arts exhibition at the Lowry in Salford this autumn is curated by renowned choreographer and dancer, Akram Khan.

One Side to the Other, the second in The Lowry’s innovative Performer as Curator series, sees Khan bringing together a personal selection of sculpture, painting, photography, film, live installation and elements of performance which have inspired him.

Taking the central themes of contrast and opposites, the exhibition explores the traditional and the contemporary, youth and experience, doubt and certainty, light and dark, truth and fiction through the work of international artists including Antony Gormley; Anish Kapoor; Nadav Kander; Darvish Fakhr; Serena Smith; Kate MccGwire and Miz Nakaishi. Also featured are films by Anahita Ghazvinizadeh and Rosemary Lee & Peter Anderson.

Akram Khan: One Side to the Other runs from November 15 to February 1.
