Over the Garden Fence: promoting an awareness of dementia

Two-woman company Haylo Theatre will be performing its self-penned play Over the Garden Fence, which promotes an awareness of dementia, at Buxton Fringe.

Hayley Riley and Louise Evans founded Haylo in July 2013. Over the Garden Fence follows the story of Annabelle and her grandmother Dolly as they come to terms with the onset of Dolly’s dementia.

It is a “fast-paced, uplifting and comical exploration into family, life and relationships that promotes an awareness of dementia that is accessible to all”.

Haylo has already received funding from the Arts Council to develop the show for a future tour and is eager to promote the play within both community and theatre settings. It will be performed at the Dementia Congress 2014 in November.

During the Fringe Over the Garden Fence will be staged in the Pavilion Arts Centre Studio on Wednesday 23 July at 7:30PM.
