Book Festival Changes Edinburgh Book Festival has announced some cancelations and additions to its programme for this year's festival. Acclaimed stage and TV actor Simon Callow, who is also appearing on the Fringe recreating his famous Charles Dickens portrayal at the Assembly Rooms, will talk about his latest biography which this time is about actor, writer and director Orson Welles. Other big names in the additional events include Clive James and Alexander McCall Smith, both returning after successful events last year. There are also additional names for some of the group events and talks. Cancellations include TV critic and recent critic of theatre critics AA Gill, as well as disgraced TV psychologist Raj Persaud and best-selling children's author Jacqueline Wilson. Authors who have sold out their events include Scottish playwright Liz Lochhead, Guardian chief critic Michael Billington and film actor Sean Connery. The Book Festival runs from 9th to 25th August in Charlotte Square Gardens. Event changes and ticket bookings can all be done on the Festival web site at www.edbookfest.co.uk/.
