Comedy Store legend makes wicked panto debut in Guildford

Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre has announced that Comedy Store Player Josie Lawrence will star as the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Josie Lawrence joined the Comedy Store Players in 1987 and shot to fame the following year as one of the regular contributors to Channel 4's Whose Line is it Anyway?.

She has appeared in a wide range of television and stage productions, including Eastenders, Jonathan Creek, Where the Heart is and QI with Stephen Fry.

She won the Shakespeare's Globe Award for Best Actress for her performance in Taming of the Shrew and the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for Best Actress for Much Ado about Nothing.

Lawrence said, "I'm really looking forward to coming to Guildford this Christmas to perform in my first ever pantomime.

"Everyone says that they have a brilliant time doing the panto season at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and I can't wait—especially as I'm playing one of my favourite characters, the Wicked Queen. Please come along and laugh, and clap, and sing and boo me—yes, boo me!"

Josie is joined on stage by Kit Hesketh-Harvey and Peter Gordon and Guildford School of Acting graduatesAnyway, Jamie Brook as Muddles and Peter Dukes as Prince Charming.

Guildford's Performance Preparation Academy second year musical theatre student, Amy Matthews takes the title role of Snow White.
