The Butterfly Catcher

Lilaloka Productions presents The Butterfly Catcher a new play by Victoria May at Salford Arts Theatre from June 3-6.

After the success of Shelagh Delaney's Then and Now, this is described as a radical new play exploring the exposure of one of the most dangerous predators in society.

Leela is a 14-year-old girl. Jonah is a 46-year-old man. In her dreams she is a dancing butterfly. In reality she needs to never wake up. Any hope for change resides in the awakening of her self-obsessed mother and aunt who also harbour their own secrets. There comes a night of violent reckoning.
