Suzanne Shaw - to play opposite Paul Nicholas in Blockbuster The Musical

Suzanne Shaw is to play opposite Paul Nicholas in new musical, Blockbuster The Musical, when it opens in September in Dartford.

Shaw found fame as part of the pop group Hear’say on ITV's Popstars. Since the band split up, she has enjoyed a musical theatre career playing Roxie Hart in Chicago, Janet in The Rocky Horror Show and the Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. On television, Shaw plays Eve Jensen in Emmerdale.

Paul Nicholas's stage career started with the original London production of Hair in 1969, followed by leading roles in Jesus Christ Superstar and Grease. His extensive credits since include the title role in Blondel, The Pirates of Penzance and Barnum.

Nicholas's most notable television roles have been in the BAFTA award-winning Just Good Friends and Bust. More recently, he has also worked as a theatre director and producer including WAG! The Musical, Keeler and a national tour of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Blockbuster The Musical features hits from the 70s and 80s including "Ballroom Blitz", "Can The Can", "Devil Gate Drive", "Some Girls", "Living Next Door To Alice", "Oh Carol" and, of course, "Blockbuster".

The show has a book by David Soames, co-writer of musical Time.

Blockbuster The Musical premières at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford then tours nationally.
