Birmingham REP and hair and beauty supplier Ellisons have been shortlisted for this year’s Arts and Business Awards.

The partnership between The REP and Ellisons has been recognised as one of the top five in the A&B Sponsorship Award category for sponsorships under £10,000.

Through the investment, both the REP and Ellisons created a programme of masterclasses aimed at high-achieving students which would develop both organisations’ education work.

In return for the REP's input into the masterclasses, Ellisons invested in equipment, salon furniture and products for the REP’s wigs and make-up department, raising it to the standards of many television and film studios.

Stuart Rogers, the REP’s executive director, says, “We’re thrilled that our partnership with Ellisons has been nominated for an Arts and Business Award. Support from businesses and individuals is paramount to the work that we do.”

The Arts and Business Awards celebrate “the finest partnerships between the commercial and cultural sectors”. This year more than 100 partnerships entered across eight categories.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 21 May.
