Richard Alston Dance Company continues to celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a four-night run in its home venue, the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, at The Place 10 to 13 June 2015.

Alston At Home will feature work by four choreographers, including the company’s ‘house’ choreographers Richard Alston and Martin Lawrance.

Alston creates the Chopin-inspired Replay with Jonathan Goddard, a former dancer for the company and winner of the 2014 National Dance Award, dancing with the company’s three-time National Dance Award nominee Liam Riddick, accompanied live by pianist Jason Ridgway.

Following the success of Madcap, which premièred at The Place in 2012, Associate Choreographer Martin Lawrance works again with the music of Julia Wolfe on his new work.

Company dancer Ihsaan de Banya creates his first piece for the company, and Joseph Toonga explores the rawness and precision of hip-hop with the shaping and structuring of the contemporary choreography.

Ending the evening will be Alston's blockbuster Overdrive with ten dancers.

Launched in November 1994, Richard Alston Dance Company is one of the UK’s leading choreographer-led companies, for which its founder Artistic Director Richard Alston has created over 40 danceworks.

Richard Alston is also Artistic Director of The Place, London’s leading centre for contemporary dance, where the company is based.

Richard Alston Dance Company focuses on Alston’s new choreography but combines this with the re-creation of seminal past works from Alston’s career.

Music plays a vital part in the company’s identity and since its inception Alston has made work to the music of a diverse range of composers.
