Theatre Book Prize 2006 The independent judging panel for this year's Theatre Book Prize has now been announced. It is made up of actor John Woodvine, critic and theatre journalist Heather Neill and Richard Mangan, administrator of the Raymond Mander and Joe Mitchenson Theatre Collection. John Woodvine has been long established as one of Britain's leading actors, his working ranging from Shakespeare to Dr Who. His Falstaff for the English Shakespeare Company gained him an Olivier Award, and he has been a leading actor with both the RSC and the National Theatre, but he is familiar to a wider audience through films and television. Richard Mangan, who recently edited John Gielgud's letters for publication, worked extensively in theatre before taking up his present post heading the Mander and Mitchenson Collection. Heather Neill is a critic and theatre writer who contributes to a variety of national papers and specialist theatre publications and websites, including The Times, The Times Educational Supplement, Around the Globe and theatrevoice.com Submission is now invited of new books on British theatre published during 2006 in English, whether in Britain or elsewhere. Translations, reprints and new editions are not eligible, nor are play scripts or titles dealing with play texts as literature. Publishers wishing to enter books should contact the administrator of the prize on theatrebookprize@btinternet.com for detailed information on where to send them. The prize is awarded annually by the Society for Theatre Research. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
