Summer Updates 2010

Updates to the BTG and the sending out of Newsletters will be, as the saying goes, all over the place from late July until the end of August.

Some reviewers are on holiday, some will be covering the Edinburgh Fringe - some, indeed, will be directing or performing at the Fringe - and I shall be directing Romeo and Juliet in South Shields (rehearsals from 26th July: performances from 18th - 22nd August), so have had to make considerable changes to the way the BTG operates during this time.

In order to make sure that our Fringe coverage (which has grown enormously since we first covered the event in 1997) is uninterrupted, North West editor David Chadderton takes over as Edinburgh editor from 8th August until the end of the month so that all Fringe reviews will be uploaded as soon as they arrive.

However there will be major changes to other review and news coverage during this period:

Week beginning 26th July: daily updates will only take place in the evenings and the weekly update and Newsletter will happen on Saturday 31st July, not Sunday 1st August.

Week beginning 2nd August: again updates will only take place in the evenings but there will be no updates between Wednsday 4th and Saturday 7th. There will be no weekly update or Newsletter on Sunday 8th.

Week beginning 9th August: daily Fringe updates but infrequent other news and reviews coverage. Small update and short Newsletter on Sunday 15th.

Week beginning 16th August: daily Fringe updates but infrequent other news and reviews coverage. Small update and short Newsletter on Sunday 22nd.

Week beginning 23rd August: gradual return to normal. Usual update and Newsletter on Sunday 29th.

Week beginning 30th August: back to normal.

During this period you can keep track of all Fringe coverage by going to the 2010 Fringe Index and of other updates by checking the Latest page.

It's a bit of a pain, I know, and I do apologise, but it's the best we can do!
