Introduction
In another disrupted year, when theatre was trying to return to 'normal', our reviewers have been asked come up with their best theatrical experiences of the year, not necessarily ones that they have reviewed for us or that fall within their usual geographical or subject areas.
Those who have contributed have interpreted the brief in different ways: some have provided a simple list of their favourite productions while others have explained their choices; some have separated their selections into categories, whereas others have embedded them in a more detailed account of their theatrical year.
The following pages are organised by the region in which the reviewers usually operate, although their selections may not all be from within that region and may include streamed or televised productions.
