The cast of Singin’ in the Rain

A Leicestershire venue is to present Singin’ in the Rain as its summer 2024 production at its outdoor theatre.

Kilworth House Theatre in North Kilworth has turned to the creative team behind its 2023 production Hairspray, including director and choreographer Lee Proud, who said, “Singin’ in the Rain is perhaps one of the most beloved movie musicals of all time and a definite bucket list show to bring to life.

“We’ve once again assembled a phenomenally talented cast and creative team and can’t wait to share with you all the magic of this timeless classic.”

The principals comprise Jack Wilcox (Don Lockwood), Jess Buckby (Lina Lamont), Lucie-Mae Sumner (Kathy Selden), Alastair Crosswell (Cosmo Brown and Mark Curry (R F Simpson).

In the ensemble are Julia J Nagle (Miss Dinsmore and Dora Bailey), Jacob Fisher (production tenor), Joel Wilding (Roscoe Dexter), Rachel Rawlinson, Austin Garrett, Sophie Cambel, Will Carey, Emma-Katie Adcock, Sam Brown, Imogen Bowtell, Isaac Elder, Esme Kennedy, Michael Dean Wilson, Jessica Sutton, Matthew Maddison and Ellie Stevens.

The creative team is Celia Mackay (producer), Michael Bradley (musical supervision and direction, Simon Wells (set and costume design), Jason Taylor (lighting design), Chris Whybrow (sound design), Charlotte Gayle (associate choreographer), Bob Broad (associate MD), Sophie Camble (dance captain and resident director) and Anne Vosser (casting director).

Singin’ in the Rain will run from Tuesday 18 June until Sunday 28 July.
