JB Shorts returns to 53two

The 24th edition of Manchester's JB Shorts will feature new work by emerging and established artists, including scriptwriters for Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Cold Feet.

The casts of the six short plays include some familiar faces from TV and film such as John Henshaw (Early Doors, The Keeper, Looking for Eric) and Darren Jeffries (Hollyoaks).

The plays are Isobel Openshaw Saves the Day by Joyce Branagh directed by Alyx Tole, Aftercare by Maz Hedgehog directed by Justina Carmen Aina, Food Fight by Cathy Crabb and Lindsay Williams directed by Miranda Parker, Life is No Joke by Dave Simpson directed by Robert Marsden, This is Not a Play by James Quinn and Trevor Suthers directed by James Quinn and Mrs. Proops by Debbie Oates directed by Ellie Rose.

It runs at 53two in Manchester from 8 to 18 May 2024.
