Northampton Royal and Derngate’s artistic director Jesse Jones has revealed the remaining programme for its 2024 season, which includes the world première of a Christmas show.

The theatre will stage co-productions with Paines Plough of My Mother’s Funeral: The Show—more details are to be released—and, with Kingston’s Rose Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and Malvern Theatres, a new adaptation of Never Let Me Go, Suzanne Heathcote’s adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel. It will take to the Royal stage from Wednesday 16 until Saturday 26 October.

Royal and Derngate will also present Janet and Allan Ahlberg’s family favourite The Jolly Christmas Postman from Saturday 7 until Sunday 29 December.

Jones said, “it’s exciting to look ahead to our co-productions with Paines Plough and the Rose Theatre, who we will collaborate with to stage new and vital productions for our Northampton audiences. I’m also delighted that we’ll be bringing Janet and Allan Ahlberg’s beautiful seasonal classic The Jolly Christmas Postman to life for younger audiences.”
