Welsh dance company Jones the Dance / Y Ddawns presents a new way to experience live performance, dance and film to communities across Wales this spring, with a cinematic journey from their familiar surrounds to the clifftops of Anglesey.

Y Dewis (The Choice) follows the story of four questioning young people, each with a tale to tell, who meet in the desolate ruins of Porth Wen brickworks, and, with the help of an MC and host and onscreen narrator, the audience decides how their stories unfold.

Made with Sekai Media and Theatr Clwyd, supported by Amdani! Conwy, Dawns i Bawb, Pontio and Deaf Hub Wales, the film weaves together English, Welsh and BSL in a mix of dance and story set against a natural backdrop engulfed in an industrial past.

There will also be a short film made by Jones the Dance’s Young Company dancers, which includes young people from the Quiet Beats project for young d/Deaf people and Jones Bach for young people in north Powys.

Y Dewis will be touring across Wales from 19 April to 18 May to rural villages, towns and cities.

Suitable for all ages, but ideally from ages 9 and up.
