Mike Poulton's adaptation of Philippa Gregory's novel The Other Boleyn Girl and Laura Lomas's take on Strindberg's Miss Julie, The House Party, will open the Festival Theatre season.
The Other Boleyn Girl, telling events at the Tudor court through the eyes of women at the heart of changing history directed by Lucy Bailey, has its world première from 19 April to 11 May.
The cast comprises James Atherton as Henry VIII, Osa Audu as Harry Percy, Oscar Batterham as William Stafford, James Corrigan as George Boleyn, Jacob Ifan as William Carey, Kemi-bo Jacobs as Queen Katherine, Ben Jones as Thomas Boleyn, Alex Kingston as Lady Elizabeth, Rosalind Lailey as Jane Seymour, Nitai Levi as Mark Smeaton, Peter Losasso as Francis Weston, Freya Mavor as Anne Boleyn, Lily Nichol as Jane Parker, Lucy Phelps as Mary Boleyn, Roger Ringrose as Wolsey and Cromwell and Andrew Woodall as the Duke of Norfolk, with Chris Green (musician and musical director) and Sarah Harrison (musician).
In The House Party at the Minerva theatre from 3 May to 1 June, Josh Finan, currently appearing in Netflix's The Gentlemen, will play Jon, with Rachelle Diedericks as Christine and Nadia Parkes as Julie.
This co-production with Headlong in association with Frantic Assembly is directed by Holly Race Roughan with an ensemble of young actors: Amaia Nalma Aguinaga, Oliver Baines, Cal Connor, Micah Corbin-Powell, Lyla Garner-Gibbons, Jaheem Pinder, Jamie Randall, Charlotte Stubbs, Priya Uddin, Grace Watkins and two child actors Nicole Arthur and Layla Owens.
